Evaluation board IRL5103FI

IRL5103FI EVB is a small , complete board based on the IRL5103FI sigma-delta modulator with current measuring resistor and all supporting components and connectors. Σ-Δ modulator converts an analog input signal to a 1-MHz rate, single-bit data stream. The time average single-bit data from the modulator is directly proportional to the input signal. Being separated from the secondary, high voltage side, the output data can be captured by a low-voltage microcontroller unit (MCU) for subsequent digital filtering and decimation. The microcontrollers for electrical energy meters like IRL1206FI have built-in hardware filters optimized for usage with the IRL5103FI.

• Current consumption: 14 mA;
• Continuous insulation voltage: not less than 690 VRMS ;
• Highest Allowable Overvoltage (1 min): 5000Vpeak;
• C10 (not soldered) X1/Y1 capacitor, can be installed to improve EMC (DE1B3RB221KA4BR01F sugested);
• R4 (not soldered) resistor between isolated power and ground, can be installed and used as a load to isolated power converter (any 0603 smd resistor).

Connectors:

• XS1,XS2: measured current;
• XP1: power, clock and data (not soldered).
